Straight Jaw - Lovejoy

The Jaw Type couplings from Lovejoy are offered in the industry's largest variety of stock bore/keyway combinations. These couplings require no lubrication and provide highly reliable service for light, medium and heavy duty electrical motor and internal combustion power transmission applications. Hubs can be used with inserts in 4 different materials: Buna-N (Sox), Urethane, Hytrel and Bronze.

Other features and benefits include:

  • Fail-safe - will still perform if elastomer fails.
  • No metal to metal contact.
  • Resistant to oil, dirt, sand, moisture and grease.

Curved Jaw Trasco

This design is the European standard jaw coupling, as well as in many other parts of the world. When equipment from overseas is used in Australia, Naismith Engineering can provide the replacement flexible couplings and elastomers.
These couplings require no lubrication and provide highly reliable service for light, medium and heavy duty electrical motor and internal combustion power transmission applications.

Spacer Coupling

The RRS coupling is based on the standard Lovejoy Jaw type coupling. The center 'dropout' section of this coupling provides proper shaft separation while also allowing easy elastomer installation without disturbing the hubs or requiring realignment of shafts. Designed for the pump industry, it accommodates metric standard pump/motor shaft separations. The 'drop out' spacer is made of glass reinforced plastic, cast iron or aluminum.

USWS Coupling

The USWS is designed for the larger pump market where drop out spacer assembly is still required. The advantage with the USWS over other designs is the reduction in the weight of the coupling. It is maintenance free and offers all of the features and benefits of a standard Jaw Coupling of a similar size. Great dampening and misalignment properties. Available with standard DBSE 140 & 180 mm.

Flexomax G

Suitable to compensate axial and angular misalignments between coupled shafts, absorbing shocks and vibrations from driving or driven machine. Elastic element made of rubber is resistant to dust, water, oil and weather conditions. Due to its simplified assembling, FLEXOMAX G allows quick and safe installation, not requiring lubrication and reducing the maintenance time. FLEXOMAX G is available in 18 sizes and several construction designs, with torque transmission capacity up to 48,600 Nm.

Flexomax GSN

The FLEXOMAX GSN coupling is suitable to compensate radial, axial and angular misalignments between coupled shafts, absorbing shocks and vibrations from driving or driven machine. The elastic element made of polyurethane is resistant to dust, water, oil and aggressive chemicals, and weather conditions. Due to its simplified assembling, FLEXOMAX GSN allows quick and safe installation, not requiring lubrication and reducing the maintenance time. FLEXOMAX GSN is available in 14 sizes and several construction designs, with nominal torque range of 20,025 Nm

Jaw In Shear

The spider is non-fail-safe and thus acts as a fuse to prevent equipment damage in the event of torque overloads. It is radially removable, meaning that neither hub (or driver/driven equipment) has to be moved to replace the spider. This saves time and money in maintenance costs. The retaining ring which encloses the In-Shear Spider has 6 Pins which slide into grooves in the perimeter of the spider and twist-lock into place. It will not work its way loose and since there are no fasteners, maintenance/removal of the spider takes only a few minutes.  
This coupling uses the standard L-Type and C-Type Jaw Coupling hubs. Existing applications using in-compression spiders can simply be retrofitted with the new In-Shear Spider if the features are beneficial. The Jaw In-Shear spider is made from Urethane and has different power ratings to the standard jaw coupling. It also uses different service factors.

HRC

The HRC is a very popular coupling, and many people have them in machines today. It is a general purpose coupling using an element in compression. They are easy to install and take up small amounts of misalignment while still reducing the shock loads often found at start up. Naismith Engineering stock a full range of HRC couplings in pilot bore and taper bore. Elements are also available.

OMT

The OMT coupling is a simple jaw type coupling designed to suit most shaft to shaft connections for the hydraulic market. The hubs are made in aluminium and use a simple rubber cross type element. The many different sizes allow for most motor to pump applications to be quickly and easily installed.

Oldham - Ruland

Oldham couplings are three piece couplings comprised of two hubs and a center member. The center disk, which is available in a choice of acetal for high torsional stiffness or nylon for vibration and shock absorption, is the torque transmitting element. Torque transmission is accomplished by mating slots in the center disk, located on opposite sides of the disk and oriented 90 degrees apart, with the drive tenons on the hubs. The slots of the disk fit on the tenons of the hub with a slight press fit. This press fit allows the coupling (with an acetal disk) to operate with zero backlash. The coupling can act as a mechanical fuse to protect equipment.

Centaflex B

The ‘B‘ series coupling provides an economical flexible shaft coupling transmitting up to 1400Nm torque, a great all round coupling. The element is available in two designs, polyurethane (green) & hytrel (yellow).
